School Trips - How to dress children/teens

School trip period?
If you are concerned about your kids' and teens' clothing for trips , we recommend Liod!
Lightweight, practical and comfortable, it is ideal for short trips and even longer ones.

Are you already in a panic because you don't know where to start? Then take a deep breath and read our advice.

How to find the right product?
1) Find the size using the size chart . Take the measurements and compare them with those in the table. Once you have identified the size, it will be easier to understand if it is a child's size (2-12 years) or adult's size (XS-XXL)

2) Think about everything : starting from the underwear up to the outer garment . Don't leave anything out, because the weather is unpredictable and it's always better to be prepared.

3) Search by category using the Men, Women, Children menu and for each category find at least one product . We know you will need it and Liod products weigh half of those normally found on the market (cotton/wool/polyester), so you can easily bring 2 or 3 Liod shirts and take up the same space as 1 polyester shirt, but having a less weight. This is very important because it allows you to have a lighter, practical and quick-drying bag.

Lightweight fabric is recommended for warmer temperatures, which can be around 20-25°C. Be careful not to dress too lightly, but it is always necessary to dress in layers during this period.

Some examples to cover the bust:

COMBINATION 1

IMPORTANT! Also very suitable for boys and girls who wear orthopedic corsets and supports for scoliosis or similar. The skin is always dry and you will forget the wet sensation that wrap them on the hottest days.

- first layer: light clothing e.g. Kunge, Urano, Iscra, Kilaq
- second layer: long sleeves e.g. Luavik, Kearsage, Buria
- third layer: Jack sweatshirt or windstop jacket Ciort or Fulmine

or
COMBINATION 2 for unstable climates (cold morning and evening; hot afternoon)
- first layer in slightly thicker fabric: Abaska, Marte, Cila, Takuvik, Quercia, Betulla
- second layer with long sleeves shirts e.g. Luavik, Kearsage, Buria, Jack sweatshirt, Ginestra, Frassino
- third windproof layer Ciort or Fulmine or 100% Polypropylene Surok fleece or Gaia fleece

For legs we recommend:

- Kodiak shorts for warmer climates
- Liod leggings or Erica model for teen girls
- Kiri tracksuit trousers or children style Gripp kids

Socks:

- for long walks it is necessary to always be comfortable and having dry feet is a priority. For these activities we recommend the medium weight Cevedale long socks or Ortles short socks
- if your kids are in the "rebellion" phase (yes, we are parents too...and we understand) try to approach them with the Fantasmino Liod (available in black or white). You will surely win them over!
- for warm climates is great also the version Legnone or Grigna, a little longer than Fantasmino, but still breathable

Head:

- The Ibur headband or the Brina hat is always recommended for long walks, especially outdoors. It keeps forehead and ears always protected and warm, avoiding sinusitis.
- For milder climates and high temperatures you can try the Ice headband, which is lower
- For windy days , the ideal is Wintex headband: two layers of Liod fabric, merged with a special Italian windproof membrane
- If they use public transport or very crowded places, the Liod "Terra" mask will protect them from pollution, bacteria and viruses . Washable and reusable, it will be very comfortable and hearth friendly. Do you prefer a lighter fabric? Try "Aria" or "Magnum".

Gloves:

- Akjuk gloves are the lightest and most versatile, even for walking and city tourism. Try to believe!
- if your destinations are more windy or snowy, the best solution is the windproof version of Wintex gloves.

SPECIAL GIRLS UNDERWEAR

For girls, we recommend trying the Igloo bra, entirely covered in hypoallergenic and breathable polypropylene fabric, without underwires. Only the preformed cup is present, also covered in 100% polypropylene fabric. Very comfortable and practical, especially if it is the first bra .
If they are out of house during their period, Kaya briefs are perfect for them: breathable polypropylene fabric, even in case of unwanted stains, they can be washed with water and immediately go back to the origin. The special low-waisted model was created to always be fashionable, but in complete comfort.
You should also try Lieto or Zima top, the more youthful line for girls!

SPECIAL BOYS UNDERWEAR

For boys , briefs and boxers are available in two types of Liod fabric. Usually the light fabric is the one they prefer, you can be sure they will always remain dry , thanks also to the covered elastic waistband. In this way, even under stress, the skin does not get irritated or cut.
You can choose any color as they are all hypoallergenic and even those who suffer from dermatitis or psoriasis will not have problems (yes, finally a fabric you don't have to be afraid of!)

IMPORTANT! Advice from parents: let them try Liod products right away, gradually, so that when the time comes to wear them for the trip they will all be more cooperative. Being a parent also means understanding children/teenagers and acting as mediators. Don't impose the wardrobe change as something you want, but propose it by listing the positive aspects of the product (it is breathable, it is hypoallergenic, it avoids temperature changes...) and starting with one item at a time. You will see that as soon as they wear it, they will be convinced immediately and they will be the ones to ask you to take other products!

Liod products can be washed in the washing machine or by hand with simple laundry soap and dry overnight .
