Oleg the Russian biker who travelled around the world with Liod
A world tour that lasted more than 4 years and in which Liod also took part, supporting the motorcyclist in his adventure, each single day.
Oleg Kharitonov, the Russian motorcyclist who has managed to travel around the world by motorcycle, wore Liod clothing throughout his trip, thanks to the precious help of the official Liod distributor for Russia.

During his adventures he faced the most various climates: he went from Russia (point of departure and arrival) to Portugal, in the USA, crossing coast-to-coast through all the States, in South America and even in Africa. However, his adventure had to be temporarily interrupted in China for security reasons.
His experiments to find the most suitable clothing for this long solo journey began earlier.
Since Oleg had to travel for many hours on his motorcycle, he was looking for a thermal, breathable and easy to wash clothing line, but especially something with quick drying. After various tests carried out by himself, comparing clothing from different brands, the choice fell on Liod clothing.

The excellent transpiring and thermoregulatory properties of the material have allowed it to be used constantly both during the day and at night, passing from the most rigid climates, up to the hot and high African humid temperatures.
We need to think of Liod not only for winter use, but also for summer use with high humidity levels. In fact, the lighter fabric is ideal for staying dry and avoiding seasonal illness caused by sudden changes in temperature.

Undoubtedly the very easy washing instructions (by hand with soap, since the washing machine was not always available...) have lead his choice to Liod. Being antibacterial means that does not require special detergents or machine dry: just squeeze and hang the garments to notice that the water is being expelled quickly. An of course, as garments didn't need to be ironed, they were immediately ready to be worn.
Oleg's trip underwent a detour in April 2016, in fact our Morbegno office was transformed for a few days into an "Official Stop of his trip". Together with the local motorcyclists of the Retzi group, we welcomed him in Valtellina - our Valley- where he told us about his story, showing sensational images took during his trip.

Moments of joy and fun were interchanged to great fear, especially when in Africa he's been found positive for malaria. Luckily, everything went out well and he was able to resume his journey on the road with determination, consuming kilometer after kilometer.

Oleg's traveling journey ended in August 2020 with a welcome back ceremony in his Moscow (Russia), where friends, relatives and followers waited for him to celebrate!
